Involve others in your idea

As a specialist and initiator of a development project there may be a tendency for you to be too preoccupied with how the solution works, and to have all details in place before you inconvenience others with your idea. This is not the right way to go about it for several reasons. Firstly, a narrow focus on e.g. technological features may mean that you lack focus on what the end user of the solution and costumers actually needs and wants. Secondly, you may become mentally tied to a specific solution and thus experience a harder time establishing constructive dialogue with potential project partners and collaborators. And finally, you easily risk investing too many resources without any certainty that there is support for the project. Strictly speaking, initially you just need to know what you need (knowledge, funding, human ressources etc.) to launch the investigation of your idea.

YOU DON’T NEED TO HAVE ALL THE DETAILS IN PLACE TO START WITH. RATHER FOCUS STRICTLY ON WHAT YOU NEED TO GET STARTED.
