Realdania seeks to help making it attractive to live, work and visit areas outside the largest cities. Realdania therefore strives to adapt, strengthen and renew areas that are challenged by societal change, drawing on local potentials.

Realdania seeks to develop, demonstrate and disseminate innovative solutions within construction with the aim of establishing a more efficient and value-creating building sector and more environmentally sound and healthy buildings as the framework for our everyday lives.

The VILLUM FOUNDATION and VELUX FOUNDATION

The VILLUM FOUNDATION and VELUX FOUNDATION are not-for-profit foundations working under the umbrella of THE VELUX FOUNDATIONS.

The foundations support a wide range of programmes and activities within:

• The environment
• Research: humanities research, technical & scientific research, ocular research, geriatrics
• Culture and society
• Active senior citizens
• Social initiatives

Tønder Energy and Environmental Fund

The purpose of the foundation is to contribute to the preservation and improvement of Danish nature and the natural environment as well as working for a more efficient and less harmful utilisation of natural resources.

The foundation develops and manufactures resource and energy-saving components, systems and processors, which may include:

• Solar cells and solar panels
• Installations for utilising wave energy
• Energy-saving raw material extraction and recycling
• Pollution-reducing raw material extraction and recycling.

The VELUX Foundation – The Environment

The foundation seeks to contribute to achieving a sustainable balance between the utilisation and protection of marine resources.

The focus is to support projects that:

• On a large scale demonstrate how the sea can be part of the solution
• Create dialogue and involve new target groups
• Create added value and coherence between different research areas (syntheses)

TrygFonden

TrygFonden supports projects that enhance safety for everyone in Denmark. The aim is to increase public safety by promoting safety, health and wellbeing in Denmark. The core areas are:

• Safety – support for the development of knowledge as well as tools that can help prevent accidents in everyday situations: at home, at school, in the traffic or on the beach.
• Health – support for activities within the prevention and cure of diseases, ensuring more Danes enjoy a good life. This is undertaken on the basis of evidence-based knowledge that is translated into action.
• Wellbeing – support for activities that help reduce the barriers that can hinder individual exploiting their potentials. Everyone must enjoy the opportunity to take part in society and communal life.

The Danish Arts Foundation

The Danish Arts Foundation’s Grants and Project Support Committee for Architecture awards three-year work stipends and work grants to architects with the aim of maintaining and promoting the creative practice and artistic production of artists.

Regular work grants and three-year work stipends are available.
