The Kirsten & Freddy Johansen Foundation

The foundation supports and favours charitable purposes, including supporting and inspiring the crafts, especially within the professions of home decoration and carpentry. Funding is furthermore allocated to cultural, educational and artistic activities.

The aim of the foundation is also to accommodate research activities, including within the crafts and within the home decoration profession in particular in addition to funding medical research within the field of disease control.

The National Building Fund

The fund supports and develops the nation’s social housing programmes and provides support to housing associations in connection with refurbishment, rent reduction and social work within housing.

The fund provides support within three regulations:

  • Regulations on special operational subsidies
  • Regulations on subsidies for repair, maintenance, improvement, conversion, merging of apartments and environmental improvement as well as infrastructure changes in deprived areas.
  • Regulations on subsidies for social work in vulnerable housing estates

The foundation seeks to support initiatives on an early stage, where it otherwise may be difficult to gain funding. The foundation only supports initiatives that, in the longer term, benefit a larger group of people.
