Support is granted for international research education, researcher mobility and career development. The Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions sub-program provides grants to educate and retain talented researchers in Europe. The programme aims to contribute to attracting and developing talent and knowledge.

The sub-program is open to researchers and individuals in the field of innovation, universities, research institutions, research infrastructures and companies from all countries. Particular attention is paid to the participation of small and medium-sized companies, SMEs

The vision is to create better research infrastructure and offer better access to infrastructure such as laboratories and costly facilities. The programme is open to EU and associated state institutions and researchers from around the world.

The Illum Foundation

The foundation has been created to support business as well as scientific, technical, architectural and artistic purposes and other socially beneficial purposes.

Support can be provided to institutions, educational institutions, corporations and associations as well as individuals.

The Danish Industry Foundation

The Danish Industry Foundation is a committed philanthropic foundation that works to ensure that all funding is allocated to projects that have the potential to offer a positive effect on Denmark’s competitiveness through application-oriented knowledge and activities.

The foundation in particular seeks to strengthen the growth of companies by developing and supporting projects focusing on:

• Internationalisation
• Create and apply knowledge
• Introduce new technologies
• Innovation
• Ensure relevant competences

En ErhvervsPhD er et treårigt erhvervsrettet forskningsprojekt og en ph.d.-uddannelse, der gennemføres i samarbejde mellem en virksomhed, en ErhvervsPhD-kandidat og et universitet. 

• En ErhvervsPhD-studerende er ansat i den private virksomhed og indskrevet på universitetet.
• Det er den private virksomhed, der søger Innovationsfonden om støtte til projektet og den studerende ansættes med løn i virksomheden under hele ErhvervsPhD-projektet.
• Den studerende deler sin arbejdstid mellem virksomheden og universitetet og bruger al sin tid på ErhvervsPhD-projektet.

For at starte en ErhvervsPhD skal man først indsende en ansøgning til Innovationsfonden. I ansøgningen skal man beskrive ErhvervsPhD-projektet og de personer og organisationer, der deltager i projektet. Ansøgningen skal være af høj kvalitet for at blive godkendt. En virksomhed og et universitet kan søge uden ErhvervsPhD-kandidat. Hvis ansøgningen godkendes, skal man finde en kvalificeret kandidat indenfor fire måneder. Kvalificerede ansøgninger med kandidat vil dog altid prioriteres højere end kvalificerede ansøgninger uden kandidat.

Innovation Foundation – International Collaborations

Investments are made in international collaborations to strengthen Danish research and to promote Danish innovation solutions.

The international perspective is vital to a country like Denmark, which has an open economy, clear positions of strength and a culture of international collaboration and trade. International collaboration is a key element in strengthening and constantly developing Danish research and innovation.

INTERREG IVA – Oresund, Kattegat and Skagerrak

Every year, the EU supports cross-border projects through the INTERREG programme.
The projects must have a cross-regional added value. Funding is allocated to cross-border collaborations:

• IVA programmes support close regional cooperation.
• IVB programmes support projects in the larger regions such as the Baltic and the North Sea.
• The IVC program supports collaboration with partners from across Europe.

INTERREG funding is available to public and non-commercial private organisations such as trade unions, NGOs and the like. Commercial companies cannot therefore generally apply for grants.
